Eric Brown was born in Haworth, England, in 1960. He has lived in Australia, India and Greece, and now lives in Haworth and writes full-time.

He has published eight books: the novels Meridian Days, Engineman, Penumbra; the short story collections, The Time-Lapsed Man and other stories, and Blue Shifting; two children's books, Untouchable and Walkabout. The first volume of the Virex Trilogy, New York Nights, was published in May 2000 from Gollancz. Parallax View, a short story collection written in collaboration with Keith Brooke, was published by the Sarob Press in September, 2000.

He has published over sixty short stories in the UK and US in magazines and anthologies, including Interzone, SF Age, New Worlds and Moon Shots.
