Derek
M. Fox, a creative writing tutor from Derbyshire, England, with 60 students
published thus far, is married with a grown up family. A penchant for
the mysterious led to publication of two novels Recluse and Demon
plus over 75 short stories and articles. With 6 years in amateur dramatics
as writer/actor/producer, he successfully steered local theatre groups
in writing/ producing plays to full houses. His anthology Treading
on the Past, published in 2000 by Enigmatic Press sold out. A recent
story which received an honourable mention from Ellen Datlow, appeared
in the BFS anthology F20. Others up for airing will appear in Bare
Bone anthology USA; Beneath the Ground from Alchemy Press and
A Kick up the Nineties from Imaginary Worlds, the latter having
accepted a new novel Jackdaw for May 01 publication.
He writes columns for Mark Chadbourn's 'At The World's End', and John B.
Ford's 'Terror Tales'.
His latest book Heart of Shadows - from Blackie Publishers, London -
investigates Lord Byron and the Supernatural, the launch to be at Newstead
Abbey, Byron's Nottinghamshire home, on April 12th, 2001.
He is currently engaged in writing Sinister Quartet a darker follow-up to
the Byron book as well as hammering out more commissioned short stories for
various anthologies.
Another historical thriller is receiving good vibes from his agent so watch
this space!!!
