Colin Wilson is one of the best-known authors in the world, having begun his career in 1956 with The Outsider, a book that earned him a place as one of the "Angry Young Men" , although he has always rejected that appellation. Since then he has written many nonfiction books on philosophy, the occult, crime and sexual deviance, plus a host of successful novels which have won him an international reputation. He has made numerous television appearances. His works have been translated into Spanish, French, Swedish, Dutch, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Hebrew. Among his overtly sf/fantasy novels have been The Mind Parasites, The Philosophers' Stone, The God of the Labyrinth, The Space Vampires and the three volumes of the Spider World series.
